Recent research by Datamonitor shows that an increasing number of Brits are taking out Annual Travel Insurance. The findings seem to indicate that, despite environmental concerns, we're taking more flights than ever before. The increase in travel has been accompanied by a 1.4% rise in growth for the travel insurance market. The report's author Andrew Haslip commented: "The UK travel insurance market continues to benefit from the desire of the British public to travel abroad." Reasons for the increase in travel include more people travelling to see family and friends abroad and also the simple fact that some of us are not refreshed by just one holiday a year. In fact previous research found that most of us will now go on at least a couple of trips a year and an increasing minority (11%) will stretch to a frankly rather indulgent sounding 5 or more holidays a year. Considering we are becoming a country full of jetsetters it is unsurprising that annual travel insurance is becoming popular. In most cases you'll be covered for an unlimited number of foreign trips over the course of a year and even if you only make a couple of trips it could work out as a better deal than buying single trip cover. The advantages of annual cover go beyond the merely financial however convenience is a big factor - get one policy for the whole year and its one less thing to think about every time you leave the country.
