What's it really like ? Transfer time: Approx 40 minutes Location: Nestling at the foot of densely wooded hills - Santa Eulalia has retained a great deal of its local history and its laid-back atmosphere makes it ideally suited to families or mature-minded people. A modern marina also draws in the so-call jet set so expect prices to be a liitle more inflated in the area. Many of the villas and apartments are situated in a pleasant hillside location just out of town across a river. The old central square has kept its original character and is the main focal point for locals with the market stalls and shops. Beaches: In the centre of the resort is a fairly attractive man-made sweep of sand enclosed by some low-rise apartment blocks. Plenty of room for families and offering safe, shallow waters. There are also some smaller coves nearby. Days Out: Watersports and some landsports available, including golf a short distance away. Tourist boats stop here for trips along the coast. Shopping is adequate for basic holiday needs although shop-a-holics may want to plan a day out to Ibiza Town or Cala Llonga for a change of scene. Further afield is 'Club Fiestaland' with its water park and sporting facilities, and if you like the fairly peaceful pace of Santa Eulalia you can also try a boat trip to unspoilt Formentera. Nights Out: Evenings tend to be quiet among the cafè bars along the promenade. Some 'live' music of the low-key variety. Eating out offers some of the best choice on the island so it's good for self-caterers Kids tastes are well catered for in most restaurants. Bucket and Spade Brigade: Should be a hit with kids who like good beaches, waterparks and boat trips. |
