Lido de Jesolo

What's it really like?

Transfer time: Approx 60 minutes.

Location:

A family resort, spread far along the coast and large enough to absorb the summer crowds.

There's wall-to-wall entertainment here that will appeal to most fun-lovers wanting more than just a beach holiday.

While the town itself has no real character of it's own it is a good base for sightseers being just 30 minutes away from Venice.

Small piazzas are dotted about the resort although some are no more than road junctions and therefore get quite noisy so check your accommodation if you want peace and quiet.

Beaches:

A vast expanse of beach (about 15km), cluttered with sun loungers and parasols and lined by colourful hotels and apartment blocks, many of which maintain their own private stretch of sand.

Days out:

Locally there's go-karting and mini-golf while a water park provides a cool alternative to the beach. Venice, Lake Garda, the amphitheatre at Verona, and Florence are all within striking distance for day trippers. Shopping is limited to the usual tourist trinkets and mini-markets.

Nights out:

'Lively' in the non-rowdy sense of the word. Scores of bars and restaurants, ice-cream parlours and cafés provide plenty of options for an evening out.

Bucket and Spade Brigade:

The gently shelving beach provides safe bathing for children and is popular with families. Another attraction for youngsters is the water park and funfair on the edge of town.
