What's it really like? Transfer time: Approx 90 minutes Location: Big on the 18-30 circuit due to the mad-for-it nightlife. No-one sleeps except for the few Zzzzs they catch up on by the pool or down at the beach. Most of the locals have now abandoned their once quiet life-style and let the young Brits take over during the peak summer months. One long narrow 'strip' in the centre of town is where most of the action is concentrated. It is positively buzzing after sundown and therefore Kavos is not the place for those who enjoy an early night. Beware: the roads get busy and there are few footpaths. Beaches: A superb sandy beach which is big enough to cope with even the peak summer crowds. Floating seaweed is common between April and early June. Water sports include ringos, bananas and paragliding. Days out: Boat trips. Shops and mini-markets along the main street but no vast choice. Better variety in Corfu Town. Nights out: Scores of bars, some with 'live' music, karaoke and TV. A handful of clubs hosting top DJs all playing bangin' hits. Bucket and Spade Brigade: A lovely, gently shelving beach. Resort may get too rowdy in the peak summer months. |
