What's it Really like ? Transfer time: Approx 1hour 15 minutes Location: Quite a favourite with honeymooners, Germans and windsurfers. 20 miles of undulating sand dunes, untouched beaches and limited resources can make parts of Jandia seem a lonely place, while others offer low-key tourism. The town is a small, modern resort consisting of no more than a cluster of hotels and restaurants. Good roads link Jandia with the rest of the east side of the island, although in the immediate vicinity the terrain gets a touch mountainous. Beaches: Jandia's most famous sight is sand. The main touristy beaches have parasols, beds and a few amenities, otherwise there are miles of unspoilt beauty. Naturism is allowed in places. Days Out: (see beaches). The resort is well placed for a visit to the village of Morro Jable. The island's other main attraction, a zoo and camel safari is a few miles down the road. For more sand visit Corralejo up north. Jandi has extremely limited shopping opportunities and only caters for essentials. Better to head to Corralejo. Golf is available at Costa Caleta. Nights Out: A fair choice of restaurants and bars, many German-owned and fairly low-key. There's some 'live' entertainment and quieter places to wind down. Bucket and Spade Brigade: Be sure your hotel has plenty going on if you're bringing children here, just incase they get bored of the beach. Remember the sea has strong tides. There's a zoo and camel safari heading out of town. More info: www.sunnyfuerteventura.com |
