What's it really like ? Transfer time: Approx 50 minutes Location: Set around a crescent-shaped bay with a concentration of characterless apartment blocks at either end. The original small harbour still exists and some of the surrounding woodland has been spared to create a pleasant shady section toward the centre of the beach, saving the resort from appearing too bland. Es Cana will only appeal to undemanding families, perhaps those looking for an economic base from which to explore. Beaches: Es Cana has two and both have been awarded the 'Blue Flag' for cleanliness. The main resort beach is set in a horseshoe bay with clean, fine sand and natural shade. Award winning shoreline with water sports, beach bars and wall-to-wall sun loungers. Warning: A second, smaller beach behind the harbour is less protected by the landscape and has dangerous undercurrents with a flag system in operation. Days Out: Boat trips leave from the harbour offering full and half day excursions. Anywhere else along the coast, either by sea or land is probably more interesting, especially Santa Eulalia and Ibiza Town where there are better amenities. Further afield is the water park and golf. Nights Out: Bars by the sea provide 'entertainment' in the form of club singers and karaoke. A decent selection of restaurants catering for the mass tourist tastes including Chinese and Italian. For a more varied menu try Santa Eulalia where there's a wider choice of restaurants. Bucket and Spade Brigade: Beach babes will be in their element. |
