What's it really like ? Transfer time: Approx 10 minutes. Location: A favourite with British holidaymakers Playa d'en Bossa is a modern tourist town comprising low-rise developments with a good standard of design although fairly bland in character. This is a purpose-built resort which attracts families who flock here for the amenities and that two-mile-long beach. Young couples also enjoy the sports and nightlife although it doesn't get rowdy. Beaches: The longest beach in Ibiza, quite broad in places with fine sand and palm trees dotted here and there, not giving much natural shade, though. Sunloungers and parasols are available close to beach bars, and there's lots of space to stretch out. The gently sloping coastline here is safe for youngsters and home to plenty of watersports. Days Out: Extremely well situated for 'Club Fiestaland' with all its sporting attractions, including; a waterpark, tennis, squash, bowling, kids playground and shops. Boat trips and local history to be found in the vicinity. For the sheer contrast, a brief boat ride south brings you to Formentera which is well worth a day exploring. Playa d' en Bossa itself offers a scattering of shops and supermarkets providing a good range of mainstays. More choice can be found among the quaint streets of nearby Ibiza Town. Nights Out: The town comes to life at night with 'live' music and karaoke bars, plus a few clubs, though nothing to compete with San Antonio's boisterousness. Numerous restaurants are spread about with some tempting international cuisine alongside the usual touristy fayre. The more curious visitor may enjoy a night in Ibiza Town for the dazzling weekend assault on outrageous fashion. Line dancing; that ever popular pastime forms part of a night out at a country and western show. Bucket and Spade Brigade: A good choice for families with a big, safe, sandy beach and entertainment on the doorstep. |
